Starmourn's economy explained!
« on: March 20, 2018, 7:29 PM »
Starmourn (the upcoming sci-fi MUD from Iron Realms Entertainment) just put up a bunch of info about how the player economy will work.

Come read all about the basic resources from which everything else is made (things like isotropic duramine, helium-11, titanium, magnaril, dark matter, and so on) and how players operate autofactories to turn these into everything from grenades to probes to processing arrays to mining bots and much much more.

Much of the design of the manufacturing system was driven by a desire to give people different roles (gathering the raw resources, running autofactories, transporting cargo, trying to pirate transported cargo, and so on) to play vs just having players gather stuff into their inventory and then make it.

Cool idea. Would love to hear more about how this works out for you.
