This MUD expects you to deposit Byteball ( bytes to your account balance because it is a gambling MUD in a dungeon crawl wrapper. It means the MUD is 18+ and might not be legal in your country depending on your local laws. In order to make a new account you must first log in from your Byteball wallet device (see the instructions here ( This MUD will not ask you to provide a password for your new account because we use your Byteball wallet for authentication. You can then share access to your SSH or telnet session from your Byteball wallet (see the attached screenshot). While we have telnet support we highly recommend you to use a SSH because telnet is obsolete, it is not encrypted and it should not be used. All MUDs that still use telnet are putting the privacy of their players at very high risk. We use an SSH proxy ( that turns SSH sessions into regular unencrypted TCP streams and privately forwards them to the actual MUD server.

We also have a browser based graphical user interface (GUI) that can be used in parallel with your normal text based client. The GUI currently only eases the gambling aspect of the game but in the future it will also include role-playing elements. A screenshot of the GUI is attached to this post.

Slice&Dice MUD has implemented QR code based authentication. No more passwords, no more filling forms for registration. All you need to do is to scan a QR code with your Byteball wallet device and you will immediately gain access to your account. Attached is a screenshot that shows this process in action in the case of SnDD. Devs who are interested in building the same method of authentication can contact me for advice.

v2.02 (minor release)
* the moneybag symbol is now clickable and can be used to switch the active balance
* when depositing from the browser client a QR code dialogue is now spawned
* fixed a newline bug within the MUD log that caused the first incoming event to be logged on the same line with the last prompt
* fixed a bug that allowed unfairly pumping up personal power by switching balances right after the spin had started

* Implemented dungeon exploration (17 rooms)
* Implemented automatic loot generation based on your character's immediate fate.
* Enhanced the combat system a lot.
* Corpses can now be eaten and will automatically be consumed by very hungry characters.
* For hungry characters it is now more likely that generated loot contains food.
* Fixed many bugs in the graphical user interface.
* Implemented a better path finding algorithm (characters now prefer moving in straight lines).
* Enhanced the risk evaluation logic (used in the venture command).
* Enhanced health regeneration logic (regen speed depends on satiation now).
* Added auto-loot for venturing (character now automatically loots the room after entering).
